In June of 2006 our family writing group decided that for Round 4 we would try writing poems instead of short stories. I loved this idea, because I had always enjoyed poetry - both reading and writing it. I submitted three poems for the round, with this being the first one.
Angel Boy and Demon Girl
by Rusty Keele
Angel boy and Demon girl went out on a date,
Said Angel boy to Demon girl, “I simply cannot wait,
To see a show, eat some food and have a couple drinks,
Then head on back to my old flat and have some fun – methinks!”
Said Demon girl, with a sigh, as she looked at him
“Boys are boys and all the same – everywhere I've been!
Just because I come from Hell, and you come from above,
Doesn't mean that I'm that way – so please don't call me 'Luv!' ”
